The Student Association of George Brown College (SA) is an organization dedicated to providing quality services and supporting George Brown College (GBC) students. While we work in collaboration with GBC to proactively address student needs, the SA is an independently incorporated organization that is run by students, for students. The relationship between the GBC Foundation and SA has been on-going. Over the past four years, the SA has contributed over $500,000 in scholarships and bursaries with the goal of helping students.
Following conversations between the GBC Foundation and the SA in 2012, the SA Board of Directors passed a resolution to introduce a levy of $25 per full-time student, per year over the next 10 years. Of the funds raised from the levy, 75% will be allocated to scholarships/bursaries and 25% to capital projects. This means that you’ll be able to access even more scholarships, bursaries and awards than in the past. Also, many of these scholarships, bursaries and awards go to students who excel academically and are in the greatest financial need.
The below opt-out form is only for new students starting in January 2014. Please fill out all required fields. The opt-out will not be processed for students who are not part of the January 2014 Intake. That means students who were part of the September 2013 intake will not be able to have their form processed. The deadline to opt out is Thursday February 6, 2014.
