The Three Types of Student Health Benefits Plan

  • Domestic Students
  • ESL International Students
  • International Students

If you are an Immigrant or Canadian Student, you are covered in the Domestic Student Health Benefits Plan. If you are a Post Secondary International Student, you are covered in the Post Secondary International Student Health Benefits Plan. International ESL Students Health Benefits Plan only covers the International students that are only taking ESL classes in GBC. Each student health benefits plan had different coverage  and provided by different insurance company.

You are automatically covered under the Health Plan if you are a full-time undergraduate student at GBC and have paid your fees. To confirm which fees  you have been charged you can go to your Personal Financial Account through STU VIEW. If you drop a course and become a part-time student, you may not be eligible for coverage under this plan. There are some cases where the Health Plan is not charged to students; therefore they are not eligible for the Health Plan. For example, students doing Co op in the fall semester, students in disability services or special needs, RTE students. However, these students except co-op in the fall semester might be uploaded into the plan upon approval of the Senior Coordinator of Member Services. For consideration, you need to contact the Student Association Office as soon as you start your program.

Office Locations:

  • St. James Campus: Room 147 (Student Association Office)
  • Casa Loma Campus: Room E100 (Student Association Office)
  • Ryerson Campus: Room 614 (SHE Building, Student Association Office)
